Papst GS 38-09 Data Sheet with Motor Board Circuit Diagram

Below is the higher resolution data sheet for the original Papst motor. Later versions were identical except for the omission of the rectifier such that they only operated with DC voltage. In the photo above you can see the speed adjustment potentiometer at the bottom right.

As far as I know, the motor was used on models by SOTA (Sapphire), Oracle (Alexandra) and Harman Kardon (ST-7).

In brief, the early ac motor using the on board rectifier had a recommended voltage of 20vac +/- 20% (16 to 24 v ac).

The dc version without the rectifier had a recommended voltage of 27v dc +/-20% (21.5 to 32.5 v dc)

If buying an alternative psu you should not excede these voltages, particularly if the psu is regulated. 

A dc psu will work on both models. An ac supply only on the early models.
